Antic
After a 2-year hiatus, New York's top street festival
is back on schedule for Sunday September 21, 2003 from
10AM- 6PM on Atlantic Avenue from Hicks Street in Brooklyn
Heights/Cobble Hill to Fourth Avenue in Boerum Hill. Some
of New York's best street shopping and eating is to be
found at the Antic with its premier craftspeople, vendors,
open-air kitchens, sidewalk sales and back-to-back performances
lining the street. Come out to the Antic; meet your friends
& family and shop, stroll and nosh your way up and down
the Avenue.
This year the The Antic features more distinctive music
and entertainment areas and more Antics: a Cheesecake
Eating contest, an Arabic music stage, a Main Stage and
two performance areas at Pete's Waterfront and Magnetic
Field, to showcase Brooklyn's hottest performers. Eddie
The Sheik, Paprika, Tutu & The Blackwater Experience,The
Black Coffee Blues Band, The Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra
and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus are in the line up. Kids
will enjoy the Flying Bridge puppets, Black Cowboy pony
rides, clowns, face painting, Bonga, Gowanus Wildcats
drill team, and Big Chair digital pix.

The Atlantic Antic was established in 1974 by local merchants
and is currently produced by the Atlantic Avenue Local
Development Corporation, a not-for-profit organization
committed to the economic development of the Atlantic
Avenue from Brooklyn's East River waterfront to Flatbush
Avenue. The event spans four neighborhoods and attracts
