Red Flag Wednesdays

Follow the red flags for participating stores and restaurants along Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn.
Festivities throughout the day will include:
Lunch/dinner and drink specials, live music, kids activities, and a variety of cultural programming.

The Hoyt Street Association and Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation present a new weekly August series as part of this Summer's Inaugural "Red Flag Wednesdays on Atlantic Avenue".

Families and the entire community will enjoy a variety of free events in the lovely Hoyt Street Garden located at Atlantic Avenue and Hoyt Street. Spend Wednesday on the Avenue visiting stores and restaurants offering dinning specials, discounts and events combined with a visit to the Garden for one or all of the following:

August 6 - MagicalMusicalMike will awe children and adults alike with his magic tricks. Accompanied by guitar, MagicalMusicalMike will also entertain and inspire all to create and enjoy original tunes on the spot. A fun-filled evening!

August 13 - Come join Joanne Riel as she engages and delights you and your children with music, instruments, free play and more. Joanne's classes and her original CD "The Flying Teapot" are a favorite in the community.

August 20 - Flowers, of a different sort, grow in the Hoyt Street Garden! Relax in the Garden with enchanting harp music and song byVeronica Valerio and unique flower sculpture by local artist Alex Racine. Alex utilizes urban materials to create works from nature and will be there to meet you.

August 27 - Graciela Carriqui innovator of the acclaimed program "Musica Para Mi" shares her beautiful voice and talents in a interactive presentation of Spanish song, music and movement sure to have everyone up and dancing!



The Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation is a Section 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization committed to the economic development of the Atlantic Avenue area from Fourth Avenue to the East River waterfront in Brooklyn, New York.
