ATLANTIC
AVENUE HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY
Officiated by Councilman David Yassky
with Special Visit from Santa Claus !
Brooklyn, New York - November 15,, 2004 -The Atlantic Avenue
Local Development Corporation will host the annual Atlantic Avenue
Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, December 1, at 6:00
PM at the Belarusian Church on corner of Atlantic Avenue and Bond
Street in Brooklyn's Boerum Hill neighborhood. The event is free
and open to the public. Families with children are encouraged
to attend.
City Councilman
David Yassky will officiate at the tree lighting, and Santa
Claus will be there to greet children and take their letters
and wishes. Allison DeSalvo, a popular children's entertainer
will perform her signature songs and ask kids to join in with
interactive music and art. The choruses of P.S. 8 and P.S.
261 will perform carols. Complimentary holiday treats and
refreshments will be provided by Atlantic Avenue restaurants.
Winners of the Annual Holiday Window Design competition will be
announced and awarded.
*Editors
please note: On Thursdays through December 24, 2004 many Atlantic
Avenue merchants will have late night holiday shopping hours until
9:00 pm
