THE 37TH ANNUAL ATLANTIC ANTIC STREET FESTIVAL
Sunday, October 2nd – Don’t Miss this SOLD OUT Event!

Brooklyn, NEW YORK – September 20, 2011. The 37th Annual Atlantic Antic Street Festival, presented by the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation (AALDC), will be held rain or shine on Sunday, October 2nd from 12pm to 6pm on Atlantic Avenue between Hicks Street and Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn. This sold out street festival will feature delicacies and unique merchandise from over 500 vendors and 100 local merchants, 10 live music stages, and one block dedicated entirely to family friendly fun! Don’t miss the Antic favorites and the exciting new attractions this year!

New to the Antic are UNIQLO’s pop-up cubes, “Pin the Skinny Jeans on the Hipster” at the Yelp Lounge, and a Broadway Booth sponsored by How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying – just to name a few! Ale-lovers should look out for Sixpoint’s Antic Amber available at select bars. There is also a new way to get to the festival this year! NY Waterway’s East River Ferry will run the Atlantic Antic Shuttle from 11am to 7pm between Pier 11/Wall Street and Pier 6/Atlantic Avenue for $5 each way. Visit www.eastriverferry.com for more details.

A must-see this year is the new and improved Atlantic Antic Kids’ Block located between Boerum Place and Smith Street. Check out the pony rides, face painting, inflatable rides, airbrush tattoos, and eat all the hot dogs, funnel cake, and ice cream your hearts desire! Just a short walk from the Kids’ Block is more family fun to enjoy at The Moxie Spot and Gumbo, including Liam the Magician, Rolie Polie Guacamole, and a bilingual puppet show for children of all ages. Nat Rubin, owner of The Moxie Spot says, "The Antic continues to get better every year. I can't think of a more entertaining way to introduce your children to Brooklyn's flavors, sights, and sounds."

As for the classics, the Amer-Aba Stage will once again feature Middle Eastern music and belly dancers galore! There will also be plenty of grilled sardines, falafels, and pulled pork to enjoy! Plus, Waterfront Alehouse Stage welcomes back Black Coffee Blues Band. Sam Barbieri, owner of Waterfront Alehouse says, “Atlantic Antic is the greatest street fair in New York. Where else can you get such ethnically diverse foods and artisan crafts from so many different cultures in one day? It’s a great place to meet friends, bring the family, hear great music, shop, and eat. No one leaves without a smile!”
